A friend bought his kids a computer and he never set up user accounts. This whole time they have been using the admin account. He went to change the internet options only to find out his kid had passworded the settings. So if you click Tools -> Internet Options -> Content -> Settings he is prompted for a password. His kid cannot remember the password.
Is there anyway to get around this password or reset it?
thanks,

from what I can see, it's not looking good. I tried Googling some stuff, but no luck. How 'bout it Crazy? This seems like a good question for you!

I tried creating another account and giving it Admin authority with intentions to delete the current admin. However, the ie settings carried over to the new account. The only other thing I could think of was uninstalling ie then reinstalling. I am not sure if it would work though.

from what I've read, that's pretty much your ONLY option. If there was any option to retrieve the password or reset it without the original Admin password, it wouldn't be very secure now, would it?

You would think there would be some kind of back door. Im almost positive there is. It seems Teresa's brother had to do something about or similar to that task. I know hes able to some really crazy stuff.

Yes there is a password to get to the desktop. However, it is not the same as this one.

forget programs... snadboys is toys'R Us type of shit. it wont work.. follow these instructions (The Crazy way)...
1) Click on Start and choose Run.
2) Type in RegEdit and select OK.
3) Now click on the little plus sign to the left of H_KEY_LOCAL_MACHINE.
4) Continue to drill down, always clicking on the plus sign at the left of the named key, through Software, Microsoft, Windows, Current Version and Policies.
5) Now click on the Ratings folder.
6) In the right pane of the RegEdit window, you'll see an icon called Key. Click on it and press Delete.
7) Next, choose Registry and then Exit to exit RegEdit. You've just deleted your original Content Advisor password.
8) Restart the computer and run Internet Explorer again.
9) Choose View and then Internet Options (or Options for version 3.x). For IE 5 or greater, Click on Tools, Internet Options.
10) Click on the Content tab and click on Disable. When asked for a password, don't enter anything; just click on OK. This will disable Content Advisor because there's no longer a password.
